MBAIAA Newsletter – October 2024

Step 10 – “Continued to take personal inventory and when wrong promptly admitted it.”
“Although all inventories are alike in principle, the time factor does distinguish one from another. There’s the spot-check inventory, taken at any time of the day, whenever we we find ourselves getting tangled up. There’s the one we take at day’s end when we review the happenings of the hours just past. Here we cast up a balance sheet, crediting ourselves with things well done, and chalking up debits where due. Then there are those occasions when alone, or in the company of our sponsor or spiritual adviser, we make a careful review of our progress since the last time. Many A.A.’s go in for annual or semiannual house cleanings. Many of us also like the experience of an occasional retreat from the outside world where we can quiet down for an undisturbed day or so of self-overhaul and meditation.”

Just Recently
We just had our annual Dog Show at Oak Newton Park. We honored our dear dogs and what they bring to our sobriety with their companionship & love. There were hotdogs & treats in celebration of them all. Thanks to everyone who participated! We enjoyed the day thoroughly.
We have a busy time ahead of us to wrap up the year and look forward to the upcoming year. We will be looking for new Steering Committee members, including a new Chairperson. Many other positions that will be available – I can’t stress enough the importance of this work. IGR representatives will be needed, as well as a Recording Secretary and a Treasurer. Please stop by the office at any time so that you can get some information about the many ways that you can be of service to this Fellowship. This service work is vital to a well-rounded recovery. Don’t hesitate to step up. Many others have found it very rewarding!

A Note From Central Office
Hi Everyone!
I am looking forward to our year-end activities. November is Gratitude month. An entire 30 days dedicated to the tremendous gratitude we all have for this marvelous program. Please take this time, if you are able, to give what you can. Gratitude month is our single biggest fundraiser annually. We must continue this important work. You can give in at the group level and, at the same time, I’ll be trying to reach as many people as possible on an individual level. I thank you all ahead of time!
We also have Holiday Banquet to look forward to. A wonderful way to celebrate the Holiday Season with your fellows. There will be all sorts of food, lots of desserts, as well as coins to to commemorate annual accomplishments. We will get started at about 5:00. Details to follow… See you all there!
Many Thanks!
Jana
Look after and support each other and remember that we can’t stay sober alone. Share with others what was so freely given to you.
